Gulp.

I got it out of the way early in Chapter 1 (with the page 5 and 6 splash page), but page 18 is gonna be my headache for Chapter 2. Ahaaa! FINGERS CROSSED, everyone!

By the way, I haven’t forgotten the Addy art that I owe you. I am also contemplating taking a call for guest artwork once the chapter wraps in 2 months so that I can take a break, but hmm. HMMM! I suppose we’ll see. If you’re interested, I guess you could give me a shout and I can assess the feedback?

Addy actually does not have an accent at all! If anything, maybe a bit of north-eastern United States, maybe midwest. Her vowels are a little overpronounced.

P.S. I think it’s so cool that some of you are trying to pick out voices!

As of right now, we are only 10 pages off from the end of chapter 2! While that doesn’t seem like a lot, maybe (it means 10 weeks, yet!), I have started thinking to the not-so-impossible future, where I want to have The Muse Mentor printed.

Here is my dilemma, and maybe you can help me out as you all usually do! You have great thoughts that have been super useful to myself as a complete novice in this department.

When should I start thinking about putting together a volume? Should I have these as shorter issues with two chapters a pop, therefore having the first one be a neat 42 pages plus added content? Or should I hold off, wait ‘til I have 4 chapters under my belt, and then just keep the whole thing to two 84 page volumes? TMM is only 8 chapters long (unless I decide I want to re-edit the last couple chapters, in which case it could wind up as long as 10, but that is the very outer limit), so it’s either going to be 4 issues, or 2 volumes.

What do you think? If the answer box isn’t enough, please feel free to reblog or to shoot me an ask! I’m really conflicted on this, and since I don’t tend to be a picky consumer myself in the page-number department, others’ views are gonna be really key. Thank you!

Shucks! Dude, all of you are going to kill me with kindness - I think it’s a pretty good way to go, though. I’m not complaining!

Also as a disclaimer, just so everyone knows, I have only received one scalding review that I know of, and it didn’t say anything in the above bubbles, aha! I am just makin’ a joke at my own expense. The dialogue there actually appears in the comic this week courtesy of all those muses lurking in the coffee shop.

I will always regret not drawing a picture of Esteban with lyrics from “Thrift Shop” on it. I want all of you to know that I forced my fingers away from doing this for MONTHS, so that by the time I ran out of willpower, the moment would have passed.

Work has been kicking my butt, and I feel like I need some time to sit and do literally no worrying about deadlines. I hate that the comic is one of the first things to suffer (it’s always my social life first, sanity second, and then the comic is soon to follow - all of these things have to suffer before paid work does, naturally!), but EVEN THOUGH it is a hobby project, I still want to tackle it with as much integrity as is possible. Sometimes that means you charge ahead and do the work even though you don’t want to, but other times it means you take a week off and get your head on straight. I think this may be one of those latter times.

I’ll still post up some artwork on Friday, and maybe even a little write-up of some sort so everyone has something to look at, and read, as well. I also owe you guys a sketch of Addy, thanks to our last tumblr game!
